How does your Swedish heritage influence the animals and nature you paint?

Answer:

My childhood in Sweden is fundamental to why I paint. The stillness of growing up surrounded by Swedish forest gave me endless opportunity for contemplation and a well developed imagination.

That timeless atmosphere made Nordic folklore feel vibrant and alive outside my window. I aim to express the sense of mystery creatively in my art through animals by narrative allegories.

I love horses! How do you capture their personality in your prints?

Answer:

I believe my way to paint horses and the emotions that are conveyed in my art are reflections of my love for them. I put that intensity into each handmade painting, letting the paint be a celebration of the sacred bond between horses and people. Horses were another perk of where I grew up and I have always felt like their energy match my own.

Question:

Do you still take custom commissions for dog or horse portraits?

Answer:

I used to. It was the biggest part of my career for a decade. I cherished the trust that was placed in me and the opportunity to capture portraits of the animal companions of my patrons. Now however, my focus is on my inner voice as it’s calling me to paint intuitive art and adding my love for narrative painting.

Are these prints high enough quality to show the "soul" of the original painting?

Answer:

Absolutely. I use professional, high-resolution scans (300 DPI) that capture the tiny details and subtle colour changes of the many paint layers which are typical of my paintings.
